#SAYNOTOXENOPHOBIA!!!!
Greetings and welcome to my personal blog, this blog is focused on South Africans and people living in South Africa. The purpose of the blog is to inform, educate and raise awareness on current issues that is happening within society from a public relation perspective.
My blog it would also be focused or based on the role that social media is playing and also the influence it has on these current issues, how it affects public relation practitioners.
Hoping this blog will educate, teach and make a difference in society.
Our dream is to see harmony in south Africa, either you are South African or NOT. Although there are different shades of colour and each represents different meaning but however they remain one,
South Africa belongs to all who lives in it.
Xenophobia is the irrational fear and distrust of that which is perceived to be foreign or strange.
Xenophobia can manifest itself in many ways involving the relations and perceptions of an ingroup towards an outgroup, including fear of losing identity, suspicion of its activities, aggression, and desire to eliminate its presence to secure a presumed purity.
Social media role
Social media plays a significant role in Xenophobia as each and every person get a chance to express their own view regarding the issue, their own opinion and also share their little knowledge that they know considering the issue by using different social media platform.
Advantages
It can be used t spread the news in a way that to alert South Africans or Non South Africans citizens about the issue in order for them to know how to protect themselves outside or in public places or certain areas.
People can organize meetings or marches to march against Xenophobia. In order words, information can be shared and transmitted quickly.
A certain page can also be created on Facebook where people can like the page and also can share pictures pf the march.
Disadvantages
Non South African citizens can be targeted easily by which anyone can know where they stay or anyone can say anything to them which can be hate speech.
South Africa's economy might go down because South Africa do business with different people from different countries, therefore seeing their own country mate being killed, bullied and attacked might cause them to change their mind about their business arrangements.
Recommendation
We need to love each other regardless of our backgrounds, races, culture and religion.
These people that are getting attacked are human beings like us, they got feelings and have blood running in their vessels. We are all Africans , let us all live in unity because Africa is our home.

This campaign should be taken seriously by many people all around the world so that we don't kill each other. We are fighting for our land as people from South Africa say foreigners are taking over South African resources and jobs which is not true because everyone is trying to make a living too.
ReplyDeleteThat is exactly my thoughts.
Deletexenophobia is a serious crime , to kill people , and there is nothing that the government is doing , this should be taken to another level shame
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately there is not much the government can do.
DeleteWe should learn to embrace each other with our differences
ReplyDeleteWithout judging as well.
DeletePeople need to start unifying and treating each other with respect. Your race shouldn't define you.
ReplyDeleteWe are all equal.
ReplyDeleteWe all got red blood in our vessel.
DeleteXenophobia is not something good for a country. Xenophobic behaviour must be sanctioned
ReplyDeleteWe, the Youth of South Africa cat put a stop to this xenophobia by starting to love one another instead of judging.
ReplyDeletewe are all Africans and if we go back in history we would see that humans came from Africans due to environmental changes they used to move around...so why are we killing our own people, who do we expect our county to develop when we are eliminating our own race.
